Structural Soils has significant experience in undertaking ground investigations for renewable energy projects in the UK

We have completed projects for wind farm power generation and are seeing growth in projects that cover transmission technology, biomass and energy from waste. Project types include large and small, new and replacement wind turbine schemes, biogas generation plants on agricultural sites and small hydro weir schemes. Our clients range from major energy producers through specialist renewable energy companies to small commercial concerns constructing one-off schemes for their own supply.

We provide a range of ground investigation services, including foundation inspection on smaller schemes and deep boreholes for the larger wind turbines on upland sites where turbines are on rock and lowland sites, which may require piled foundations. Whatever you require, we can offer a full range of ground investigation techniques, in situ testing and in-house laboratory testing services. We can provide ground investigation reports to exact specifications or design bespoke investigations. We can interpret data, reporting in various forms, such as digital AGS and PDF files.
